As of this moment, augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR) is, even though related, still regarded as different kinds of technology. This work marries both of these technologies together to push towards a future of VR anytime, anywhere (ubiquitous VR) by leveraging the strength of AR for VR. face2faceVR allows two VR users to see each other's position in real time simply through the use of AR marker tracking, allowing for an extremely inexpensive approach to 6-degree of freedom tracking between users.
