Locomotion and navigation in virtual reality (VR) remains a large challenge until today. ArmSwing is an approach that uses the natural arm swing motion from the user to move around the virtual world. It does not require a single button push, and the direction depends on the body as opposed to the facing direction which is more natural (allows the user to look around in any direction while walking straight). Additionally, arm swinging is more low profile, energy efficient, immersive, and does not require third-party peripherals.
